How do you document real life?

Hi, I'm Lauren!
(or rdm, if you prefer the shorter name with the longer story)

I'm 23, a university student and a self-confessed music nerd.

Here you'll find Glee, Disney, Sherlock, fic, musicals, pretty people, pretty things and my ramblings.
Oh and I have a tendency to overshare. Don't say I didn't warn you.

enjolraic advice for les mis performers

laissezferre:

  1. wear kneepads. the long-term benefit of wearing kneepads has been proven by all les mis companies before us.
  2. don’t goof around during other people’s solos; don’t put up with people who goof around during yours.
  3. every now and then, sing a different harmony. just for the hell of it.
  4. remember compliments. forget insults, unless they’re from the director.
  5. stretch.
  6. if you’re asked to work on the barricade, be careful. if you’re asked to play enjolras, enjoy your knees now.
  7. do not be a swing.
  8. understudies — maybe you’ll go on, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll be better than the actor you cover. maybe you’ll retire a bitter and twisted person. should you ever go on, don’t congratulate yourself too much, but don’t berate yoursef either. always remember: the audience paid a lot of money to see someone else.
  9. learn one sentence in french. that way if you ever run out of ad libs, you can deliver something french, thus impressing everyone.
  10. whenever possible, kiss up to the resident director.
  11. be sure to use the bathroom before the barricade scene.
  12. be nice to your dresser. dressers are people underpaid to handle actors’ dirty laundry.
  13. get to know imported artists. you never know when they’ll be gone for good, and you may need international accommodation someday.
  14. trust me on the kneepads.

scott irwin offers some friendly advice for the 1998 les mis australian tour. watch the video for more. the harmonica guy is rad.

So two of my classes have changed times since I last looked at it.

The good news is I now only have to be at uni one day a week!

The bad news is that day is 8 hours ALMOST STRAIGHT THROUGH

O_o

The leg up at the end tho.

I like the coach, putting his hands on his knees like, “Welp, that wasn’t it.”
