How do you document real life?

Hi, I'm Lauren!
(or rdm, if you prefer the shorter name with the longer story)

I'm 23, a university student and a self-confessed music nerd.

Here you'll find Glee, Disney, Sherlock, fic, musicals, pretty people, pretty things and my ramblings.
Oh and I have a tendency to overshare. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Sigur Rós cover The Rains of Castamere for Season 4 of HBO’s Game Of Thrones

And so he spoke, and so he spoke,
that Lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o’er his hall,
with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o’er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

And the Waltz Goes On - Anthony Hopkins

Sir Anthony Hopkins Hears The Waltz He Wrote 50 Years Ago For The First Time

Academy Award-winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins was a musician before he got into acting. 50 years ago he wrote a waltz but was too afraid to ever hear it play. Dutch violinist André Rieu performs it for the very first time. Watch Hopkins’ reaction.

That was beautiful

I cried a few tears and felt better about humanity’s endeavors.

This is so amazing. The waltz is awesome and Sir Anthony is humming along. He looks so damn pleased.

A) I realized that about 17 seconds into this, that I was just beaming.

B) Does this just sound like Anthony Hopkins? Complex, and joyful, with a darkness just below the surface?

C) André Rieu is everything I never knew I wanted when I heard the words “Dutch violinisit”

This was fantastic! I loved the way the audience reacted, swaying back and forth to the rhythm and kind of chair-dancing. The bit where the tubas come in around the four minute mark is so good. And what’s that cool wind up box instrument? I want one! :D

Today…I’m going to call it…is the first properly beautiful spring day of the year. And in keeping with my yearly tradition, that means I play this song.

To celebrate the incredibly exciting news that Janelle Monáe and Kimbra will be touring Australia together, I plan to listen (and dance) to their cover of Michael Jackson’s ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin” all day.

Take this sinking boat and point it home. We’ve still got time. Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice. You’ve made it now.
